Congrats from the USA!
Hello reader!
Happy Wednesday to all of you. Well, my Wednesday has not been a good one but let's see, it'll get better! Today's post will be dedicated to a friend of mine!
Today, the first thing I did when I opened my eyes were to check all my social network accounts as if I was not late enough to go to school. Yeah, you name it, my phone has it. From Facebook to Twitter to Instagram or even G+. So anyway, what there was one thing that made me smile today:
Nah, that was not me who got the 1st prize in blog writing competition. It was my friend, Kent, whom last I remembered was majored in Math instead of Creative Writing. I have always been a fan since he started his blog. There was no fancy phrases nor was there any rainbow-glitter-glossy kind of blog skin. It was a simple and meaningful blog. It is the kind of blog that you just want to keep reading because it was so honest and easy to relate to. I never miss a single post until now and I do plan to keep on being a loyal fan of his blog. If anyone's wondering what is that awesome blog is, you can check it here.
I remembered ever meeting him infront of the ME building in school. We were kind of just acquaintances, actually. I barely see him around in school except during big events. That fateful day I met him and we had a 5 minutes chat under the sunny weather. I asked him why was he studying math- a question which a zillion people might prolly shot at him before I did. He said he wanted to be a writer and I said try it, why not. And now his passion led him to such a great achievement, I feel so proud to know this man and his decision to follow his heart's desire:)
There are a few blogs that I keep track on and I always admire those bloggers for being so open, for wanting to share of their life's up and downs. I guess I need to thank them for making me have the courage to once more write. I have been blogging in the quiet for over 7 years now. Initially, the posts are open to public, and then I took a step back and lock them all up and kept it like a silly dusty old diary. But here I am now, back to what relieve me from all the problems that could ever bring me down.
So, if you are like me who hesitated and doubted yourself of being able to achieve something, take a look around you, find an inspiration and don't give up, it's always worth a try. We may not be prefect but it's better to try with all the imperfections rather than hiding and not giving it any chance at all. Plus, doing something you really like can cause no harm:) You will still end up happy even if you don't excel.
xoxo,
Lin
